Solar energy system 101

Energy storage is like a giant rechargeable power bank. It stores electricity and gives it back when you need it. Just like how your phone charges during the day and you use it at night, energy storage systems do the same thing — for homes, businesses, and even entire communities.

For example in Nigeria, electricity is not always stable. There are blackouts and high fuel costs for generators. Solar energy system gives you:

  • Stable power (no interruptions)

  • Cheaper energy (less money spent on diesel)

  • Cleaner power (no smoke, less pollution)

An energy storage system is like a team where each player has a different job. Together, they use solar energy to power your AC, home, and office.A solar solution typically includes three main parts: Battery、Inverter、Solar Panels.

  • Solar Panels: capture sunlight and generate DC electricity.

  • Battery: stores energy for later use.

  • Inverter: converts DC from panels/batteries into AC power for home or business use.

Think of it as: solar panels collect → battery stores → inverter delivers.

Getting Started with Solar System Sizing

If you are interested in setting a solar energy system at home, the first step is to size assess your energy consumption. Your energy needs are typically measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh). To get a clear picture, gather your electricity bills from the past 12 months. Look for your total electricity usage to find your average monthly/daily consumption.

It’s also helpful to be aware of the energy consumption rates of the various devices in your home. For example your AC can consume a significant amount during the hotter months.

FAQs

Q: How long can the battery last without charging?
A: Depends on the battery size and appliances connected. Example: Our 2000Wh portable system can run a 250W inverter fridge for 8 hours.

Q: How about after-sale service?
A: Warranty: Battery 5 years, Inverter 2 years. Do not open the machine yourself. Do not allow untrained people to repair, this will cancel the warranty.
